Web Font Tracking Privacy Policy

This Web Font Tracking Privacy Policy applies to the use of the Monotype Web Font tracking script when you self-host Web Fonts and similar technologies to count the page views of web pages that use Web Fonts provided by Monotype Imaging Holdings Inc., a Delaware corporation with its principal offices at 600 Unicorn Park Drive, Woburn, Massachusetts 01801 USA, and our subsidiaries and affiliates worldwide (collectively, the “Web Fonts”). As the web site owner you should incorporate these terms into your sites’ privacy policy to ensure that your site users are informed about our use of personal data.

What information do we collect from you?

When you access a web site which contains our Web Font tracking script or similar technology we will collect the web font project identification number (anonymized), the URL of the licensed Web Site which is linked to a Customer ID to allow us to identify the licensee and the licensed Web Fonts, and the referrer URL.

Additionally, when you access a web site which contains our Web Font tracking script or similar technology, your IP address is transferred to our third party service provider. The transfer of such IP address takes place in order to count the page views for our licensees and to prevent illicit use of our web font software (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), but the IP addresses are not transmitted to us, stored, or otherwise processed by our third party service provider.  

How do we use the information we collect from you?

We store the anonymized web font project identification number in encrypted log files with such data for 30 days to extract the monthly number of page views. After such extraction and storing the number of page views the log files are deleted. 

How and with whom do we share and disclose information we collect from you?

We share anonymized information with our subsidiaries and affiliates.

What other technologies do we use?

We do not use any other technology to process anonymized data of users of web sites which use our Web Fonts.

What Services are not covered by this Privacy Policy?

This Privacy Policy governs only information that we collect through tracking on web sites that use our Web Font technology. No other service or product offered by Monotype Imaging Inc. or website owned or operated by Monotype Imaging Inc. is covered by this Privacy Policy.

Do we use cookies?

No, we do not use cookies in connection with tracking use of our Web Fonts.
